Omron releases E3AS Series TOF Photoelectric Sensors with compact size and 1,500 mm sensing distance

Industrial automation solutions pioneer Omron Automation Americas recently launched its cutting-edge E3AS photoelectric sensors that employ time-of-flight (TOF) detection and an antifouling coating to provide exceptional performance in the toughest environments.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, October 31, 2019 – Omron Automation Americas, a global leader in end-to-end industrial automation solutions, launched its new E3AS Series Reflective-Type Photoelectric Sensors that combine accurate detection for diverse targets, exceptional sensing distance, environmental robustness, and compact size. These sensors are designed to help manufacturers manage varied and flexible production needs more effectively.

Manufacturers are producing a broader range of products with shorter life cycles, making part detection a dynamic challenge. By maintaining stable detection without being influenced by varying sensing distances, colors, materials, or surfaces, the E3AS sensors make selection, adjustment, and maintenance tasks easier than ever, improving commissioning and operation rates.

The E3AS family’s sensing distance of 1,500mm is five times longer than that of previous models, and the full sensing range of 50mm to 1,500mm eliminates the need for manufacturers to select different sensors for each application. The time-of-flight (TOF) detection method ensures high detection stability regardless of the characteristics of target objects, making sensor selection and adjustment easier than ever.

Omron supports flexible production needs with its most advanced and versatile safety light curtain to date

Omron Automation Americas, a global leader in industrial automation and safety solutions, recently announced the launch of a cutting-edge safety light curtain that supports flexible production needs and provides high levels of environmental resistance.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, September 16, 2019 – Industrial automation and safety solutions pioneer Omron Automation Americas recently launched a state-of-the-art light curtain that meets the needs for more flexible production line design. The broad functionality of the F3SG-SR Series Safety Light Curtain helps manufacturers comply with global safety standards without sacrificing efficiency or throughput.

To meet the challenges of today’s marketplace, manufacturers now need to improve mix and volume flexibility and invest in more sophisticated equipment. The resulting variety in production line layouts can make it difficult to choose the right light curtains. Omron’s offering helps reduce complexity and setup time by minimizing wiring connections and providing easy-to-see color indicators for quick verification of beam status and alignment.

In addition, the F3SG-SR supports a broader range of manufacturing needs by providing the necessary ruggedness to function in harsh environments. With an oil-proof IP67G rating and the ability to function in temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C), this advanced design helps avoid the tendency of most light curtains to malfunction in many demanding industrial settings.

Omron to release new E2E NEXT proximity sensors with enhanced sensing distance and IO-Link

Omron Automation Americas, a globally recognized provider of advanced industrial automation solutions, has announced the release of over 2,500 new models of its E2E NEXT proximity sensor series featuring exceptionally long sensing distances and IoT functionality.

Bensalem, PA, January 30, 2019 – Industrial automation solutions provider Omron Automation Americas has added more than 2,500 new models to its E2E NEXT line of proximity sensors. Highlights of the new models include an enhanced sensing distance that minimizes target contact during production and IoT capabilities for improved predictive maintenance.

Contact avoidance is essential for maximizing uptime. Seventy percent of unexpected equipment downtime is caused by component failures, of which proximity sensors account for a large proportion. E2E sensors are designed to help manufacturers reduce potential causes of unplanned downtime while benefiting from the sensors’ environmental resistance.

The addition of IO-Link functionality enables the sensors to reduce recovery time by indicating the location and cause of failures. They can also detect warning signs of impending failures and notify users via the network. The combination of IoT capabilities, long sensing distance, and oil resistant sheathing reduces the risk of sudden equipment shutdowns by a factor of three.

This certification includes the Bensalem, PA headquarters and six other company locations. By achieving ISO 9001:2015 compliance, Airline is assuring customers of their commitment to consistent delivery of quality products and services.

Released in October 2015, ISO 9001:2015 is the latest release of the Quality Management System standard set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
