Electrical Training

Electrical Training

Airline is a proud to partner with Applied Motion Technologies (AMT), a technology training provider based in Bethlehem, PA. AMT’s training facility utilizes real industrial components to reinforce instructor-lead training on electrical control technology. Prices include all training materials, breakfast items, morning and afternoon refreshments, and complete lunch.

Industrial Control Electricity (ICE)

This five day, 1st level electrical training course, was developed for maintenance technicians that have responsibility for all aspects of machine and process operation. ICE begins with understanding the relationship of voltage, current and resistance. This relationship is reinforced with the understanding and proper use of a DMM (digital multi-meter). Students are trained to understand safe electrical operating practices. Learning topics include the function and operation of push buttons and selector switches of various configurations, EM stop PB's, fundamental motor control equipment and much more. This course also provides training for both DC and AC electrical principles. Many lab exercises using the electrical devices referenced here are integrated into this training course. Click here for detailed topical outline.

PREREQUISITE: Students should have exposure to electrical controlled machinery as used in industry - all are welcome.

Major topics include:

  • Transformers and DC power supplies
  • Rectifier (diodes), resistors and variable resistors
  • Rheostats, capacitors, inductors and photo eyes
  • PNP & NPN proximity detectors, time delay relays, contactors and GP relays
  • Single phase and three phase AC power as used with transformers and induction motors
  • Electrical symbols and interpretation of logic electrical schematics
  • Introduction to PLC’s and HMI’s

5 Days / Price: $1,850

Press Controls and Setup (PCS) - NEW FOR 2018!

In this five day training course, students will learn about press equipment and how other high flow hydraulic systems use logic cartridge valves, cartridge valve control circuits, proportional valves and variable displacement pumps. This Press Controls and Setup course increases students’ knowledge of the typical hydraulic valves and press hydraulic circuits that are used on press equipment. This class teaches students to read and interpret press system schematics. Students will learn the types of pump equipment that is often used on press hydraulic power units. High flow hydraulic systems use logic cartridge valves to control various press functions. PCS covers prefill valves and circuits, press return cylinders (kickers), decompression operation, Counterbalance and regenerative circuits. After completion of this course, students will better understand the hydraulic controls used on press equipment and they will be better prepared to maintain and troubleshoot the equipment at their facility. Click here for detailed topical outline.

PREREQUISITE: Principles of Industrial Hydraulics or equivalent.

Major topics include:

  • Understanding logic cartridge valves
  • Review directional control valves and pressure control logic cartridge valves
  • Prefill valve and circuit operation
  • Pump systems for hydraulic powered presses
  • Counterbalance and decompression control
  • Regen circuits
  • Press circuit schematic reading/interpretation – actual press circuits

5 Days / Price: $1,850 per person
